VIC Modified Bitumen can be used in the road construction, maintenance and renewal of roads, airfield and heliports in a manner similar to the existing hot mix process using the same plant. Properties of Bitumen are modified to enhance the performance by addition off suitable modifiers like rubber, polymer etc.
Modified Bitumen improve resistance to cracking , Lower susceptibility, Higher resistance to deformation, better age resistance properties resulting in stronger and more durable overlays for corridors in the areas of extreme climatic conditions,high rainfall area and heavy traffic loads etc.
Main applications of MB are for Stress Absorbing Membranes (Crack Sealing), Stress Absorbing Membrane Interlayer, Base Course, Thin Over layers, Surface Dressing, Wearing Course maintenance works etc.
